I’ve chosen to pursue tattooing as a career. This comes with ups and downs. It is easy to get discouraged and to lose motivation. In an attempt to prevent these things from happening, I’ve decided to create artwork outside of my profession.

The opportunity to show work at the Tap and Mallet was a way for me to set a goal for myself. The six paintings that I produced specifically for this exhibit are heavily influenced by the art of tattooing. My work is mostly figurative because I’ve always been interested in the human form. A few of the paintings are made up of multiple canvases so as to break up the composition of said pieces. I used acrylic paint to create bold color and markers to enhance the pieces with solid line.
